"Vitne" is a Norwegian word meaning "witness."

Vitne (Joseph Kimbrell) is a solo rock artist, playing primarily within the Progressive and Melodic Rock/AOR realm. His earlier work revolved more around Glam Metal, previously frontman for the Norwegian glam/hair-metal band SEKS ("SIX" in Norwegian).  Through his work with SEKS, he met Julian Angel of the hair-metal band Beautiful Beast, and the two have worked closely ever since.  Julian's lead guitar work can be heard throughout Vitne's works.

Vitne's songs have been featured in multiple compilations all over the world, including the visual-kei based Broken Rose Records' "Decadent Society" Omnibus 1 and 2, AOR Magazine, as well as the Russian underground magazine BUNKER.

Originally from Charleston, SC, Vitne relocated to Norway in 2010 and began his solo career in 2013 after his band activities were put on hold.  He has gone on to found his own Relectric Records, which houses all his solo releases, both SEKS and HART records, as well as his American punk rock band Golden Palace in which he is a founding member, guitarist, and songwriter.

Vitne's debut album Neon is greatly influenced by the 80s glam metal movement, and gained critical acclaim for him worldwide. His follow-up EP Endless Blue continued that legacy with critics saying "Think of Vitne and Julian Angel's relationship as a modern day incarnation of Billy Idol and Steve Stevens," (SleazeRoxx) as well as "...thank you for those few moments in your company which reminded me that sometimes the world is a fabulous place" (Metal-Impact).

A multi-instrumentalist, Vitne sings and plays guitar, bass, flute and some piano. His flute work reminds the listener of his love for Jethro Tull most notably heard in his latest work, Endless Blue.  He is also an avid language learner, speaking both English and Norwegian, and learning Japanese and Russian.
