A Note From Vitne about The Conqueror:

When SEKS entered hiatus in early 2012, I wanted to keep working on music. I also was enjoying being the "character" of Rock Hart of SEKS. So, I decided to make a new record under the name HART, a solo project of sorts. Steen (from SEKS) was on-board with the heavier style of music I wanted to do, and Julian Angel was back on-board as well, so I started writing songs.

 

Some songs were initially SEKS songs, like "Lay it on Me" and "Untamed Heart of Rock N' Roll." In many ways this is SEKS' second album since this was the direction we were moving. I was experimenting a lot with head-voice like Vince Neil and Sebastian Bach use, and I was listening to a lot of Twisted Sister. Because of all this, I decided I wanted the record to sound like it was released in the early 1980s. No slick production or mixing, just down dirty and raw.

 

When it was released, I didn't do a very good job at explaining what exactly it was, so some reviewers praised it and understood the concept while others slammed it saying it "sounded dated."  It was meant to sound dated! Thus it didn't do so well initially, but over time it has continued to sell, especially with Demon Doll Records picking it up to sell. It was also the first time I ever released anything on cassette, and I absolutely love the cassette. Talk about a cool thing to hold in your hand!

 

This was my final release before launching my solo career as Vitne.
